IFSC Code

The Indian Financial System Code (IFSC) is a unique code assigned to a bank branch that participates in the Real Time Gross Settlement (RTGS) and the National Electronic Funds Transfer (NEFT) Systems. IFSC is 11-character in length. The first four characters represent the bank name, and the last six characters represent the bank branch. The fifth character is 0 (zero) and reserved for future use. NEFT and RTGS systems use this code to route the messages to the destination banks/branches.

MICR Code

Magnetic Ink Character Recognition Code (MICR Code) is a code mainly used by banks for processing checks. The banks that use the MICR code generally will have the MICR code information typically at the bottom of a cheque. This code typically contains bank code, bank account number and cheque numbers.
